Hello GEMS Families,

Need Help with technology?

If you are having an issue with technology and you cannot figure out the issues with your teacher you can always call the office and we will find a way to help you!

Virtual Book Check Out

Students can check out library books from GEMS Library GEMS students have the ability to remotely access our school library catalog.
  • Go to the GEMS website, click on Educational Support, click on GEMS Library, and click to access the library page, click on Library Catalog.
  • Browse the catalog and click on the book of your choosing.
  • Click Log In
  • Enter your Username which is your computer login without @wpusd and your password which is your 8 digit student ID number and Submit.
  • Click Hold. You can choose up to 2 books to put on Hold. Ms. LeBeau will pull the books, put your name on the stack and set them on a table in the library foyer.
  • Please enter the campus through the side gate on 3rd Street for book pickup and returns. Please wear a mask while on campus.
  • You may pick up your books the day after you place your hold from 12:30 to 3:00. If your books are not picked up within two school days they will be returned to the shelves.
  • If you hold a book that is already out it will not be available for pickup until it is returned to the library. In that case you will receive an email through Schoology when that hold is ready.
  • The books are on loan for 4 weeks and should be returned to the library foyer by then. The due date is on the inside cover.
  • If you have any overdue books from last year or from another school you must return them before checking out books from the GEMS library.

Parent Participation

We understand that distance learning is new for all of us. Please refrain from commenting or participating in your child's class. If you have questions or concerns please make sure that you reach out to your child's teacher directly. We want you as a partner in your child's education but it makes it too difficult for our teachers to address concerns during class. Thank you for your understanding.

Bell Schedule for 2020-21 School Year

The Bell schedule is a little different than the one that I originally sent out. We added two minutes to each passing period to ensure proper cleaning of the rooms when students return.

We will be on the "A" schedule every Monday and block schedule Tuesday through Friday.

Tuesday/Thursday will be periods 1, 3, and 5. - ODD Periods "B" Schedule
Wed/Friday will be periods 2, 4, and 6. - EVEN Periods "C" Schedule

Attendance

Attendance is being taken for classes. It is important that your child shows up for class every day. If your child cannot attend a class you need to call the front office and report that absence. Again if you have technical issues we will help you through those.

Students need to attend class, the entire class, until they are excused.

ALL students should attend their PAW classes when they are scheduled on Mondays as well. PAW is not optional.

My child forgot how to log on to Schoology. What should I do?

Please make sure students are logging into: https://wpusd.schoology.com
Your child's account is the Grad year + Last name + First Initial + Middle if enrolled that way.  Example: 27VancourtLR@wpusd.org

The password is the student ID#. That number is on the schedule your child picked up this week. It starts with a 200.

This log on information will be the student's as long as they attend a WPUSD school.

This is a Google email so you can access the email through Google. You can also access it through Clever.
