CLASSES TAUGHT

Beginning Art - (Art 1)
Art 1 offers the beginning art student the basic principles of drawing and design. The students will work with the elements of color, line, value, shape, form and texture. The students will work with felt pen, pen, pencil, colored pencil, pastel chalk, watercolor, and poster paints. The class will explore graphic design, drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, cartooning, papermaking, and photography.

Advanced Art
Art II is for the students who show exceptional ability and dedication. Students will expand on basic principles learned in Art I to produce projects in felt pen, pen, pencil, colored pencil, pastel chalk, watercolor. New media such as silkscreen, airbrush, linoleum block and woodcarving will be introduced.

Ceramics
This course is hands-on. Students will explore the fundamentals of working with clay. They will learn basic ceramic techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab building, as well as an introduction to wheel throwing and glazing. Through creative projects, students will develop their artistic expression while gaining an understanding of the properties of clay, the firing process, and the history of ceramics. This course encourages creativity, patience, and craftsmanship in a fun and supportive environment.
