Honors Academy

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Glen Edwards Middle School offers a multi-year advanced curriculum experience for qualifying students through its Honors Academy. Students must meet qualifying criteria and apply for acceptance into the Honors Academy. The Academy is a district magnet program for GATE and High Achieving (H/A) students offering the following:

•Cohort Groups of students of similar advanced skill level who are scheduled in
two core classes together over their three-year middle school experience.
•Advanced Math classes, beginning with Pre-Algebra II in 6th grade, Algebra in 7th
grade, and Geometry (for qualifying students) in 8th grade.
•Teachers who are experienced working with GATE/HA students.
