Language Arts

Our middle school students study integrated language arts courses in which they:

• Read and respond to literature-both fiction and nonfiction
• Develop and strengthen their grammar and writing skills
• Write CBEARs (analytical paragraphs; formerly known as TBEARs)
• Engage in the writing process to write three types of essays (narrative, informative/explanatory, argumentative)
• Work on developing vocabulary
• Study Greek/Latin roots
• Prepare and make oral presentations
• Learn and practice research skills
