About Us

Welcome to Glen Edwards Middle School (GEMS), home of the Panthers!  Glen Edwards offers a variety of programs for our students. Students who attend our school have the opportunity to participate in AVID, Art, Computer Technology, Student Leadership, Music, and Video production.  These programs are all in addition to the rigorous core curriculum offered throughout the day.

At Glen Edwards Middle School, we take great pride in meeting the needs of all our students.  We have support classes called STRIVE for those students who may need extra support during the school day to meet the academic standards in English and Math.  Our staff works extremely hard to develop relationships with students, both inside and outside of the classroom. You will see many of our teachers outside of the school day supporting our students.  There are also many opportunities for your child to participate in school activities outside of the classroom, by way of athletics, dances or by joining one of the various clubs we have on campus.

GEMS has a proud and rich history with continued excellence.  Thanks to the Measure N bond, GEMS has a new two story consisting of 9 classrooms, 4 of which are science, an art studio, broadcast studio, and media center.  Additionally, we have a new gymnasium, new band room, and a new addition to the administration building, along with improvements existing classrooms. This two-year project was completed in 2020.  We are excited for our students and staff to have this state of the art facilities upgrade.

We work hard to develop strong relationships with our parents.  Through the English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC), students site council, and our Association of Parents, Teachers and Students, we are able to increase parent involvement.  This year we are offering PIQUE, which is a parent institute that will help parents learn more about the educational system. We are continually working on ways to include parents in the educational process.  We welcome all parents as a partnership in their child’s education.
