2022-2023 School Year Message

I hope you found some time to relax and enjoy time with your family over the summer break. We are working hard here at GEMS to prepare for the 2022-2023 school year.

Glen Edwards offers a variety of programs for our students. Our students have the opportunity to participate in AVID, Art, Computer Technology, Student Leadership, Music, and Video production. These programs are all in addition to the rigorous core curriculum offered throughout the day. We have designated supports, such as English Language Development classes, the Learning Center and STRIVE, for those students who may need additional support meeting the academic standards. New to Glen Edwards this year is our Wellness Center. Our Wellness Center is a safe place created for our students to work through social emotional issues, to take a break when needed or suggested by a teacher.

We are eager and ready to support our students as we continue to foster strong positive relationships amongst students, staff, and the community. Our goal is that our students are academically prepared for the future as they transition to high school and beyond. Our staff is committed to putting in the work to support all our students in developing skills that are positive, productive and professional. We encourage all our Panthers to participate in school activities outside of the classroom, by way of athletics, dances or by joining one of the various clubs we have on campus to support these relationships.

Glen Edwards staff works hard to develop strong relationships with our parents.  Through the English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council, and our Association of Parents, Teachers and Students, we are able to increase parent involvement. We encourage and welcome all parents to partner with us in supporting their students educational journey.
Communication is very important to us here at GEMS. On the first Monday of every month, we send out the Panther Prowl to our families with an update for the month.

As always, please send me an email or call the office with any questions or concerns.

Go Panthers!
