Welcome to Glen Edwards Middle School!!

I’m honored to serve as Principal of GEMS, where I’ve spent more than a decade (since 2012) working with our incredible students, staff, and families. Our mission is to create a positive environment of high expectations that provides opportunities for all to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

At GEMS, learning goes beyond the classroom—we value community, collaboration, and the belief that every child has unlimited potential. Together, we make GEMS a place where students feel valued and excited to learn.

Steve Roman, Assistant Principal 

My name is Steve Roman and I am looking forward to my second year as an Assistant Principal at GEMS. Prior to coming to GEMS I spent time as a VP at Mira Loma HS, a teacher/ activities director/ wrestling coach at TBHS. 

I am looking forward to sharing all of the great things that our Panther family will be doing and working with all of you and your students this school year. If there is anything you ever need please don't hesitate to reach out.

Laura Estes, Assistant Principal 

I am excited to join the Panther Family as I begin my fifth year as an administrator in WPUSD and my first year at GEMS. My background includes TK through 12 school counseling, educational leadership, university teaching, and published research.

As both an educator and the parent of a student entering his final year of middle school, I understand the opportunities and challenges of these pivotal years. I believe students deserve to feel known, supported, and connected as they balance academics, activities, friendships, and growing independence.

I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and families and becoming an active part of the GEMS community. Go Panthers!
